RE: My grandchild is.......

We call the grandson Hurricain Michael, he can rip through this house like a hurricain and leave just as much distruction.
They are all a joy, no matter what they are in to at any given time.

My grandchild is.......

Such a little helper.
First he helps make the mess, then he wants to help vacume the floor.
Mind you he prefers not to pick up the toys or anything else he has thrown on the floor. We're working on that.
What about yours?

RE: Are You A Licker Or A Chucker?

I'm a licker. Why waste the little extra taste. I also scrape off the foil top on sour cream and any other type of item that comes with the freshness seal on the container.

RE: Clear and cool... really cool

It was quite chilly here this morning. Some of the mountains are starting to a little snow fall. Yes, fall has arrived. Had to turn the heater on for a bit to take the chill off the house. I miss the warmer mornings.

RE: Voting

Like Mandrake we have mail in ballots. All canidates and measures are on one ballot. We fill in our choice with black ink, put in a secrecy envelope, then another envelope for mailing, sign and mail.
I think one of the biggest difference in the country now is states with mail in ballots as opposed to actually having to go to the polls to vote.

RE: Northwest wine country

Oregon has been up and coming in the wine industry for a while now. I personally don't drink wine, but understand that the local wines are very good. I know winerys dot the landscape all over the state. There is one right off I-5, Willamette Valley Vinyards that I understand has good wine and was even on one of the Rachel Rays $20 A Day shows.
One of my former GLs at Target left to go to work for a vinyard up in the Spakane Valley about a year or so after I had started at Target. She was excided about going to that job.

Craig,
I envy your the willpower. I love my coffee and don't think I could drink only one cup a day, let alone one cup a week. Congrats.

RE: It finally got here

See, that is the weird part, I thought I had ordered a brochure also, and then this one came in. Which one did everyone else get. I got the Third addition of the one I mentioned in an earlier post, and it is about 2" thick.

RE: It finally got here

I want one!! OK... I admit, I don't know what it is... anyone wanna share a link or more information?
Please, and thank you. :)
It is a really nice little book. It's National Geographic Guide to Highways & Byways. It is for the whole US.
Thanks Potkorn for posting another link for it.

RE: Bright lights in neighbors back yard

I like the paint idea. A bb gun would be my next thought.
Actually how about you put up a light that will point directly into their home at night. Maybe they will "see the light" so to speak.

I got mine two days ago - we must have all ordered at the same time off of the same posting.:)
I think so. I remember a large number of us saying we had ordered it.

Remember a couple months ago someone posted about a Scenic Byways publication? I finally got mine today. Pretty nice little book. Hope I can use it well someday.

RE: Your favorite Fall drive and why ?

I don't really have one. Most of the areas I like to travel to have mostly evergreens, so we don't get a lot of fall color.

RE: OJ found guilty

.....every single person involved with the Vegas deal is sleazy, the whole deal stinks. And as much as I believe OJ was guilty of the two murders in LA, I cannot allow that prejudice to taint this fiasco. Sometimes it seems justice is not served, but I for one don't want to see it perverted the other way either........
Now Craig, I agree with you that all of the parties involved in this are sleazy, however, that is no reason for OJ to be given a pass on yet another serious crime. He is by definition innocent or not guilty of the murders, but a jury this time felt there was enough evidence to convict him of these crimes and remeber his co-defendant got the same conviction. Your just not going to hear about him, becaus he is not famous.
If there is enough evidence to convict the other players (victims) in this drama for theft of OJs property then they should also be standing trial for that, if a deal hasn't all ready been made.
I to heard the comment about the past maybe having colored the jurys current verdict, and though I loath to say it he is entitled to be retried. I was under the impression that juries are not suppose to consider past bad acts by the defendent under most circumstances, and since he was not convicted of the murders, why would that even be brought into his trial? I think he is guilty as everyone else thiks he is of the murders, but I though juries were suppose to be un-biased.
If they find these rumors to be true, then he needs to be retried. :(

RE: OJ found guilty

Will he service a single day?
Reb
Yes, because the judge denied bail and he was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs. Now will he stay there, that remains to be seen. According to his attorney he did not receive a fair trial, so they will appeal.
I noticed he didn't have that big s--- eating grin on his face last night when the verdict was read, like he did after his murder trial.
He even grimaced when the deputy was putting the cuffs on. Poor OJ, maybe justice has caught up with him this time.

RE: Duggars and their 18 kids

To heck with responsibility, I just think they are nuts! Eighteen children, I can't even imagine trying to raise them. As for the show I don't think it is sending the wrong message. I'm sure they are all getting something out of opening their home to the cameras.
I've seen a couple of shows that have been done on this family, they look like a happy, healthy, well looked after bunch of kids. They take care of each other and help the each other out.
If I were to worry about any of them it would be the mother, having all these babies has got to be putting a lot of stress on her body.
I have always wondered how many of them would remain childless or only raise 1 or 2 children of their own.

I'm with Barb. On Saturdays I don't have a 6am on my alarm clock, unless the grandson is here.
Thanks for the heads up.

RE: It might be a girl or it might be a boy

Congrats,
We just found out last week that our son and his wife of 2 years are expecting there first child and our first grandchild.
She had her first ultra sound today heard the heart beat.
They said she was 9 weeks due around May 6th.
I am so excited.
You are so going to love being a grandparent. This will be my second and that is why i'm hoping for a girl. I adore my two year old grandson. He wormed his way into my heart and I just miss him when he is away from us.
I bring up the genetic issue because my soon to be DIL has a couple members in her family who were born with cleft pallets. She was so worried about that. I will love this one as much as the first one girl or boy.

RE: Harvey House

Just watch the history channel. They on occasion run a show about rail travel and there is a segment that includes the Harvey House and the waitresses they called Harvey girls. Oh, and that is one of my favorit Judy Garland movies.
